Best Food in NYC

welcomes you to indulge your ramen and sushi cravings

Ramen and Sushi Restaurant Near Me

I'm a ramen fan. To start with, I used to be a student of Japanese cuisine. I graduated from the University of Michigan University a few years back and spent three years in Japan studying Japanese cooking, culture and herbs. When I come back to the United States, I'm always looking for new places that will allow me to satisfy my ramen and sushi craving. I've discovered a few restaurants in New York that have wonderful ramen and sushi selections.

"Nestled at the center of New York's financial district-ZEN RAMEN & Sushi welcomes you to indulge your ramen and sushi cravings. From our signature California roll to our delicious miso gyoza, everything is served on the finest sesame seed tortillas with our house made sauce. The Ramen is also made from the fermented maki (fish cake) that is grilled and sold by our chef Hyo Yae. The Ramen has a hint of sweet, yet not over powering, flavor. If you are looking for a restaurant that will give you a full tummy bursting bowl of ramen, I would highly recommend this establishment."

Located on East Houston Street in Manhattan, a Ramen and Sushi restaurant like Zen Ramen and Sushi definitely has something special going on in every aspect of its operation. A ramen roll is simply delicious; the soft, nori wrappers that hold it in place on the plate are also very tasty, and the fresh, steamed vegetables and fish cake that come out of it are great. The Ramen and Sushi restaurant also serves some other delicious items on its menu, including California Roll, California Fries, Chicken Gizzi, Tempura, and of course, the traditional Japanese roll. Of course, the standard Japanese vegetable selections are also available as well.

Another great ramen shop and restaurant near me are the one and only Oishi at Battery Park, New York City. Opened in the early 1990s, Oishi serves traditional, delicious, sweet, and very affordable makiwara (ramen slices) all onigiri (formal food prepared separately from sushi). Of course, it may be hard to believe that an "American" could serve such exquisite fare, but surprisingly enough, Mr. Kenji Tomiki actually got his start serving sushi in a much more American-style bar in San Francisco. His years in the business have given him plenty of insight into the preparation of authentic Japanese food, and as a result, every single element of each dish that he serves is absolutely perfect - from the thin, crispy char siu wrapped around skewers of short loin, to the succulent vegetables and meat filling the wrap, to the slightly sweetened flavor of the wasabi itself.

There's another great place in New York City that serves authentic, California-style seafood rolls and a variety of other interesting Japanese dishes - Shinyae Japanese Steakhouse. The atmosphere is lively, with crowds of diners milling about outside. Popular dishes include the Braised Shortcake (patella and spicy tuna strips accented with wasabi and spicy peanut sauce), Crab, and Scallop Gyoza Omelet, and the California Roll (marinated wheat flour, waste, and shiitake mushrooms accented with ginger and garlic). Shinyae offers an unforgettable experience in a restaurant near you. If you're looking for something different, or if you just want to explore some interesting flavors, I would encourage you to give these two restaurants a try.

In closing, I would simply say that ramen and sushi are truly an art form, and I would encourage any ramen lover and sushi connoisseur to find a restaurant near you that offers authentic Japanese food. It won't take much of an effort, and you will definitely be surprised by what you find. To get the best food possible, don't settle for the cheaper items; you will likely end up regretting it. As always, please keep in mind that all restaurants are different; therefore, I cannot guarantee that Ramen-Sushi will work well with your dining establishment.
